Commitment for a more sustainable, healthier and safer Europe was confirmed at the EUSalt’s meeting where the European Salt Producer’s Association’s (EUSalt) met
to discuss the state of the salt business.
The EU salt industry gathered in Dublin end of May 2010 at the EuSalt’s annual General Assembly. At this occasion, the representatives of the EU salt industry discussed the impact of business on health, climate change and the environment.
Managing Director Wouter Lox: “As a responsible stakeholder the European salt industry will continue its contributions to an improved environmental sustainability and consumer health. Initiatives as the Green Week and its focus on biodiversity highlight important challenges in which the salt industry’s provides efforts to preserve the well-being and safety of man, animal and nature. We invite policymakers to tackle these important issues by looking at a broad and transparent consultation of various stakeholders; as a responsible industry we are open to participate in these consultations and discuss the various options for the future”.
